Crane truck rental: Everything you need to know

Maximize your industrial operations with rentmas’ selection of crane truck rentals. These versatile machines provide exceptional lifting and transportation capabilities, making them essential for projects that require moving heavy loads across various distances and terrains. Crane trucks combine the mobility of a vehicle with the power of a crane, offering flexibility and efficiency for manufacturing, logistics, and construction applications.

Is a crane truck the right machine for my project?

A crane truck, also known as a truck-mounted crane or a knuckle boom truck, is a lifting device affixed to a truck chassis, allowing for easy transportation between work sites. The classification of crane trucks typically depends on their lifting capacity, boom length, and truck size: these vehicles are categorized according to their maximum load, reach, and mobility. Crane trucks available through the rentmas platform feature lifting capacities ranging from 5 to 50 tons and boom lengths extending up to 35 meters. For more specialized lifting needs, explore our selection of crawler cranes or top-slewing cranes. If you require a machine with more maneuverability in tight spaces, consider our range of articulating boom lifts.

When choosing a crane truck, it's important to take the specific requirements of your work environment into consideration. Factors such as road conditions, site accessibility, and lifting specifications will determine whether a small commercial crane truck, medium-duty crane truck, or heavy-duty hydraulic crane truck is the most suitable option for your project.

Crane trucks offer remarkable adaptability and strength, enabling operators to perform lifts in diverse settings where traditional cranes may be impractical. These machines seamlessly integrate transportation and lifting capabilities, making them suitable for both short-term tasks and ongoing projects. However, they are primarily designed for vertical lifts and transportation, unlike aerial work platforms which are better suited for elevated work positioning.

Crane trucks can be outfitted with various accessories to enhance their functionality. The standard configuration typically includes a telescopic or articulated boom and stabilizing outriggers.

Other common features and options include:

  • Winches and hoists: For precise load control
  • Multiple axle configurations: For improved weight distribution
  • Remote control systems: For enhanced operator flexibility
  • Load monitoring systems: For increased safety
  • Interchangeable lifting attachments: For different load types
  • Ergonomic cab design: For operator comfort during extended use
